This map layer shows the intensity of resource-related conflicts in 2017, grouped in five categories.

On the basis of the Heidelberg Conflict Barometer that identifies one or more conflict issues for all conflicts recorded since 1853, this map shows conflicts with the conflict issue 'natural resources'. The intensity of the conflicts is shown on a scale of five levels: level one and two: dispute and non-violent crisis, deal with non-violent conflict. The following three levels, violent crisis, limited war and war describe violent conflict.
