This map layer shows the recipient countries of German arms export licenses for military equipment of UNODA, category "heavy weapons systems" divided into five classes according to the amount of money granted.

The annual reports of the Informal Council Working group on Arms Control (COARM) document the amount of arms exports licenses for all European countries in various categories of arms. For this map layer, the categories ML4 (heavy weapons), ML6 (ground vehicles), ML9 (vessels of war & special naval equipment) and ML10 (aircraft) have been summarized for 2004–2016.

It must be noted that these are broad categories and thus also include small weapon parts.
