This map layer shows the current stockpiles of civil and military plutonium in tonnes, in three categories for the year 2014.

If possible, one differentiates between civilian and military stockpiles. Data on civilian stockpiles are sourced from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and show the current stockpiles but not the site on which they are stored. The data on the military stockpiles is sourced from the International Panel on Fissile Material–IPFM. The military stockpiles are all estimates by the IPFM experts which have a degree of imprecision of 10 to 30 per cent, except for data on the United States and Great Britain.
