The map shows the status quo of the Arms Trade Treaty at the time of writing While the international arms trade has so far only been regulated in part and by individual agreements, the ATT, for the first time, deals comprehensively with the trade in conventional weapons.

The graph compares periods of peace, the number of conflicts and ratified arms control agreements as well as the volumes of arms traded by the five countries that are permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany.

The graph provides an overview of country ratifications. The ratified international control agreements are presented for all countries, grouped by region, over the period 1950 to 2014. The date of state formation has been taken into account for each country.

This map shows the current status of the civilian and military use of nuclear energy and also points out the states that have signed the Non-Proliferation Treaty and the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty.
