This map layer shows the current number of active and registered satellites per country in space.

On this map, all registered satellites by country based on the "UCS Satellite Database" are presented. The database contains detailed information on all active satellites in space and enables analysis of space activities for each country. Therefor the purpose of the satellites (civil, military, government or commercial) is of great value and also the respective orbit. Of the total 1,887 satellites in the database, 817 are not or not yet registered. The USA has 410 (active and registered) satellites in space, which is the highest number worldwide. Satellites of international organizations like the European Space Agency (ESA) have been assigned to the respective member states.
