This map layer shows the reserves of conflict-relevant mineral resources per country, classified according to the quantity of materials for the year 2016.

In the annual publication "WORLD MINING DATA", of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy the production of 63 mineral resources in 169 countries is pooled and statistically processed. Due to their global economic importance and relevance for/in violent conflicts, the minerals bauxite, iron ore, gold, coal, cobalt, copper, rare earths, silver, tantalum, tungsten and tin have been selected to be shown on the map. Information on the resources available in the countries can be found in the country portraits.
