This map layer shows the natural resources dependence of select countries in 2006 in three dependency levels.
The variable Resource Dependency was derived as normalized share of the total of all revenues from select natural resources (oil, gas, coal, diamonds, gold, copper, iron, cobalt, sugar, coffee, cacao, poppy, cotton, rubber) of the total export proceeds of a country for that year and divided into three categories (moderate, strong and very strong dependency).
